 Jacobs Jolly Mini Burger

All children love burgers. They are just so easy to make, so why buy processed ones jam packed with additives? Always a guaranteed pleaser, these simple little burgers are delicious and fun to make. Many burger recipes contain a multitude of ingredients including egg yolks, bread crumbs, tomato ketchup, oyster sauce, garlic, etc. The trick as with all home cooking is to keep it simple.

Ingredients

To produce take 300g of a quality lean minced beef, a medium onion, 8 slices of smoked back bacon, half a tsp of wholegrain mustard, sea salt and cracked black pepper.

 Method

Fine dice the onion. Slice the bacon. Fry the onion in hot oil until golden. Add the bacon and continue to fry till just cooked. Remove from the heat. Allow to cool. Add to the minced beef. Mix together. Season with the wholegrain mustard, sea salt and cracked black pepper. Form into one inch thick rounds either by hand or by use of a pasty cutter as a mould. Wrap in clingfilm and chill for half an hour. Cook using your preferred method of pan, grill, oven or barbecue. Serve also as preferred in toasted buns or not, with salad or without, garnished with mayonnaise or plain. With melted cheese, gherkins or however you please. Enjoy.
